Conference Objectives

• To present what has been done generally in Turkey, specifically in Istanbul in terms of seismic risk mitigation after the Marmara Earthquakes of 1999
• To share information and similar experiences of other earthquake-prone countries
• To build consensus among various stakeholders for future steps in sismic risk mitigation in urban areas.
